White Stone Painting is a residential and commercial painting company based in Valparaiso, Indiana. For more than a decade we have painted homes and businesses across Porter, Lake, and LaPorte Counties, from Valparaiso, Chesterton, and Portage to Crown Point, Merrillville, Michigan City, and La Porte.


We were founded for a simple reason. Homeowners and business owners deserve a painter who will take the time to do it right: careful prep, honest pricing, clear communication, and a crew that treats your property like their own. White Stone was built on faith to be that company, and that conviction still guides every job.

Josh Boss, Building a Legacy One Home at a Time

Before White Stone, Josh spent years in construction. He knew how homes come together, and he saw how often the final coat of paint was treated like an afterthought, rushed out the door on the last day. That never sat right with him. A home is not just a building. It is where kids grow up, where holidays happen, where the ordinary moments of life quietly add up to the ones that matter most.


Walking away from a secure job to start over with nothing but his skills and his faith was not the safe choice. There were no guarantees and no safety net. Josh took the leap anyway, trusting that if he did honest work, told people the truth, and treated every family like his own, God would take care of the rest.

That is exactly what happened. More than ten years later, Josh still gives every estimate himself, still works on site beside his crew, and still walks every finished job with the customer before anyone packs up. Every project carries a story: a nursery being readied for a new baby, a family home getting ready for its next chapter, a storefront someone poured their savings into. The moment Josh loves most has never changed. It is when a customer walks into the room and sees the picture they have carried in their head finally come to life.

The Meaning Behind the Name

Why We Are Called White Stone

"Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it."


Revelation 2:17

The name comes straight from Scripture. In the ancient world a white stone carried real meaning, and Bible scholars often point to three of them when they read this verse:

A Verdict of Innocence

In ancient courts, jurors cast a white stone to acquit and a black stone to condemn. A white stone meant you were declared not guilty and set free.

A Token of Welcome

White stones were given as tokens of friendship and admission, a personal invitation to a feast. Holding one meant you were known, trusted, and welcome.

A Reward for Overcoming

Victors were sometimes honored with a white stone. In Revelation it is promised to those who overcome, marked with a new name known only to the one who receives it.

For Josh, the name is personal. A white stone is a picture of grace: a verdict of not guilty that was never earned, a welcome that was freely given, and a new name for someone who held on through the hard seasons. It reminds him where this business came from, a leap he could not have made on his own strength. Josh left a comfortable construction career on a leap of faith and founded White Stone in Valparaiso more than ten years ago. He still gives every estimate himself, works on site beside his crew, and walks every finished job with you before anyone packs up.


His goal is simple: leave every home and every customer a little better than he found them, and build a company his crew and community can be proud of.

4. Final Walkthrough
